Kapunda Bowling Club seeking $400,000

The Kapunda Bowling Club will leave its home of 103 years, with the help of a $400,000 government grant.

The club will move from White Street to an undercover 10-rink synthetic green and clubroom at Dutton Park by next season if granted money from a re-elected Labor Government.

Kapunda Bowling Club Board of Management spokesman, Mr Phil Voumard said the funding would help enormously with the financial shortfall facing the club.

“As a small club, we don’t have much breathing space financially but with this funding we could do things a little bit better and means we don’t have to cut corners,” Mr Voumard said.

“The previous generation got the bowling club to where it is today and we want to do the same for the next generation.”
