Fruit company starts redundancy process

The closure of Angas Park Fruit Company’s production side in Angaston came to reality earlier this month when 40 production staff received their redundancy notices.

From the middle of next month, the first group of staff will leave the company as part of a decision to relocate operations to Irymple, Victoria due to processing facilities in Angaston operating “well below capacity”.

It is understood the maintenance department will be employed beyond August and the shop will still function as usual, employing 19 staff.

Angas Park general manager, Mr Peter Manning paid tribute to the staff during this emotional time.
