Young chefs and waiters tour Barossa

Two of the region’s best young hospitality providers have shown off the Barossa to their peers from around the nation.

Mat McNamara, 26, and Stephanie Jacob, 22, went on a Produce Tour around the country as national finalists in the Electrolux Appetite for Excellence young chef and young waiter awards.

The group toured the Barossa on July 12 and stopped at Henschke Wines, Keyneton and Barossa Valley Cheese Company, Angaston.

All of the finalists learned about the region’s food and wine industry and Mat and Stephanie were proud to show off their home.

Mat moved to the Barossa at a young age and landed his first hospitality job at Appellation, Marananga, where his father, Mark McNamara previously worked as head chef.
