Sisters take over the field

Four sisters reunited on Saturday to play in AM United’s B grade hockey match.

Fiona Nevins, from England took to the field with her elder sisters, Veronica Thomson, Sarah Thomson and Kylie Bartlett to make club history in AMU’s 10th Anniversary year.

Also playing were the Gibson sisters, Lizzi and Sarah who both began their hockey at Moculta along with the Thomson sisters.

Veronica, being the eldest, started minkey at age 7, at Moculta, under the guidance of club stalwart, Kerry Munchenberg – with her sisters following her into what was to become a family sport.

Veronica now coaches AMU’s Hook into Hockey Under 9s with her daughters, Elyssa and Eloise Thomson, taking part for the first time this season and continuing the family tradition.
