Motherhood inspires inner author

As Lyndoch mother, Mrs Kim Lock goes about her daily business, a bunch of voices chatter away in her head.

The novelist is halfway through writing her second book and the characters have come alive in her mind, voicing their opinions before she can scribble them on paper.

“It is really strange how real the characters become,” Kim said.

“They talk to me like real people and it makes me feel a bit crazy at times, but I’ve heard it does happens to other writers.”

Kim’s life as an author began when she unexpectedly fell pregnant six years ago.

The former graphic designer was following her husband, Ben around Australia as the army posted him to different locations.
