Jobs go as Linke’s Contracting closes

Many employees will be out of a job at Linke’s Contracting Pty. Ltd., Nuriootpa, after the nearly 50-year-old business confirmed it will be closing.

The business directors, who pointed out they are not in receivership, said they had made the difficult decision to close the business.

Managing Director, Mr Kym Linke said the decision had not been made lightly and the current economic environment had not provided an adequate return on investment.

“Unfortunately, as a result of this decision, there are job losses which are regrettable, however, necessary,” Mr Linke said.

“The directors of Linke Contracting Pty. Ltd. wish to thank staff, customers and suppliers for their support and friendship over many years.”

Linke’s has been open for nearly 50 years, after Kym’s father, the late Mr David Linke started the small contracting business in 1967.
